Peter Will be Someplace in the Northeast Woods This Week
I am back from places aboard and will now disappear into the woods of the Northeast for a week of backpacking. Bags of peanuts, almonds, dried cherries, raisins, bagels, tortillas, bags of tuna fish, peanut butter, Nutella, Minute Rice, and Cliff Bars sit on the kitchen countertop. We just need to pick someplace to go.

Breakfast at the Blue Mosque
After six hour bus ride, three new stamps on my passport, and a ride on the metro I am here in the Sultanamet District, eating the cheapest breakfast that I can find: one loaf of bread (TL 0.80), one container chocolate spread (TL 2.50), one small bottle peach nectar (TL 1.00), and two bananas (TL 2.00). I have plenty of bread left over for later.
Perhaps later today I will feign interest in buying a rug. Now to find some tea.

Waiting for the Night Bus to Istanbul
Tonight I take the night bus to Istanbul along with four other volunteers. We have just waited out a rainstorm underneath the pavilion of a shop near the Burgas train station. So far I have eaten one dooner, one ice cream bar, one marmalade filled croissant, and consumed one bottle of orange juice. The bus leaves at 11:30pm.
Before the storm gathered the following apparition could be seen in the sky:
There is nothing worse than an inscrutable omen. (As said Calvin of Calvin and Hobbes.)

Volleyball and football are very popular in Bulgaria. Theory: The United States is the only country in the world that does not understand football. This is the source of all cultural misunderstanding.

Here apples cost 5 лв per kg and inflatable objects and towels are quite expensive.
